Neat Momentum JS
The Momentum JS invites you into the music. It delivers a sense of space, balance and flow that feels far greater than its compact form suggests.
Whether playing quietly late at night or filling the room with energy, the Momentum JS remains composed, revealing the rhythm, tone and emotion that make music feel alive. TECHNICAL INSIGHT The JS is a two-way standmount design employing an isobaric bass loading system for exceptional low-frequency control and depth. The main bass/midrange driver operates in tandem with an internal companion unit, working within a sealed chamber to produce smooth, extended bass performance. The AMT tweeter offers speed and detail that integrate seamlessly with the midrange for a coherent, natural presentation. The decoupled front baffle, mounted via a flexible membrane, isolates vibration and maintains clarity across the frequency spectrum. Internally, the hard-wired crossover uses carefully selected components chosen through extensive listening to ensure transparency and stability. The JS is easy to position and drives confidently from a wide range of amplifiers, combining precision engineering with the natural musicality that defines Neat.

Neat Momentum JS
Inspired by the acclaimed Neat Ultimatum XLS, this stand mount loudspeaker distils much of that flagship thinking into a more compact and accessible design. At the centre of the speaker is a beautifully engineered front baffle that is mechanically decoupled from the main cabinet using a polyethylene membrane. This carefully controlled isolation reduces unwanted cabinet energy and allows the drive units to perform with greater freedom and clarity. Mounted within this floating baffle are the tweeter and a 170mm Ultimatum drive unit that handles both bass and midrange frequencies. Working together, they deliver the speed, articulation and natural musical flow that define the Ultimatum approach. The result is a stand mount loudspeaker that captures much of the scale, openness and musical engagement of its larger sibling, while presenting it in a more compact and elegant form.

Neat Acoustics Client Testimonials for Neat Momentum JS
It didn’t seem to matter what I played though them, they managed to handle it with ease and composure. These never lacked body; the iso-baric bass does a brilliant job at offering plenty of punch and deep bass without lacking control.
— Hi-Fi Pig Magazine
It’s hard to convey just how good these little boxes are...they sound like a loudspeaker costing at least twice the price
— Audio Genesis
Hand crafted audio excellence.
Every Neat loudspeaker is built by hand in our North East England workshop, a place where craftsmanship and musical understanding meet.
Our engineers are listeners first. Each design is refined through careful auditioning, ensuring that every model captures not only precision and balance, but the emotion that makes music feel alive.
From cabinet construction to crossover tuning, every element is shaped by experience and guided by ear. The result is sound that’s natural, expressive, and unmistakably Neat.
FAQs
Running in
All loudspeakers need time to settle. You will hear a change after around 30 hours of normal listening, though some models take up to 200 hours to reach full performance. Avoid making final placement decisions until the speakers are fully run in.
Positioning
Take your time with placement. Move the speakers a few centimetres at a time until you achieve the right balance in the room. Placing the speakers closer to the rear wall will increase bass output. Pulling them forward usually improves openness and clarity. Avoid corners as they tend to exaggerate bass and produce a heavy or boomy character
Rear ports
A rear-firing port does not prevent a speaker from working close to a wall. Low frequencies radiate in all directions rather than as a narrow beam, so a rear port does not materially alter the basic placement rules.
Stands for standmount speakers
Non-floorstanding designs need proper supports. A stable, well-made stand of around 60cm will usually align the tweeter with ear level. The quality of the stand has a major influence on performance, so choose the best you reasonably can. Your dealer can advise.
Floorstanding models
Ensure the speakers are level and properly supported. Use the supplied spikes on carpet or adjustable feet on hard floors. After-market isolation products from IsoAcoustics, SoundCare or Stack Audio can provide worthwhile improvements.
Cables and connections
The loudspeaker will only perform to the standard of the signal reaching it. Use good-quality cables, correctly terminated with soldered or crimped 4mm plugs to ensure a reliable connection. Some amplifiers require particular cable characteristics. Your dealer will advise.
Amplifier matching
The most important factor is that you enjoy the sound. That said, we have had consistently strong results with integrated amplifiers from the following manufacturers. This list is not exhaustive and should not replace a proper demonstration.
